Northern RI Chamber of Commerce PRESIDENT/CEO POSITION DESCRIPTION NORTHERN RHODE ISLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE e Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce (NRICC) is seeking a dynamic, vision- ary leader to manage and lead a seasoned sta to achieve the strategic goals determined by the Board of Directors. NRICC serves a highly diverse regional community of businesses. e NRICC strengthens the economic climate through business leadership that fosters member and community prosperity. e Northern Rhode Island Chamber network extends throughout Rhode Island and into Massachusetts with our primary focus on the communities of Burrillville, Central Falls, Cumberland, Foster, Glocester, Johnston, Lincoln, North Providence, North Smith eld, Pawtucket, Scituate, Smith eld, and Woonsocket. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Advocate for the business community; promote pro-business growth and support initiatives, policies and legislative e orts at the local, state and federal levels that are pro-business and economic growth. Develop and implement strategic plan in conjunction with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Sustain a nancially viable organization through the development of an annual budget and longer-term strategies, ensuring revenue growth beyond annual membership dues. A ect a positive impact to the business climate by means of political process/advocacy. Ensure membership growth and development. Lead e orts to establish strategic partnerships. Play a leadership role in economic development. Manage an e ective and e cient organization. Demonstrated political acumen, and ability to relate to diverse groups of people in varied settings. Knowledge of business operations and practices, and ability to understand and interact with businesses and business people of all sizes and statures. Ability to embrace and inspire change. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree preferred Minimum 5 years experience as a senior executive in corporate, community or not-for-pro t management Experience in reporting to a Board of Directors, and/or serving on Boards of Directors Proven business development, sales and/or fund-raising experience COMPENSATION A competitive compensation package will be made available to the quali ed candidate.
