Eva Satti Costa – Smithfield/Scituate

Eva Satti Costa, 103, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. She was born during a snowstorm on Nov. 11, 1915, in Providence.

The wife of the late Edward G. Costa, together they lived on Pleasant View Avenue in Greenville for over 50 years. Eva lived a very full life. She loved to read, play cards, watch Celtics basketball and take walks. Her family will fondly remember her independence, tenacity and strength.

Eva is survived by her children Edward J. Costa and wife, Carol, of Panama City, Fla., and James A. Costa and wife, Palma, of Greenville; her five grandchildren, Jill (Michael) Hall of New Hampshire, Janine Costa (Raymond) Grigelevich of Scituate, Susan (Anthony) Merolla of Smithfield, Todd Costa of Riverside, and Amy (Christopher) Hood of Maryland; her 13 great-grandchildren Isabella Merolla, Lilia Hall, Elena Grigelevich, Stephanie (Kevin) Walsh, Jonah Hall, Samuel Grigelevich, Vaughan Hood, Brooklynne Costa, Linnea Costa, Nicholas Hood, Sylvie Hall, Grace Hood, and Lillian Costa; and two great-great-grandchildren Dezmond and Grace Walsh.

She is happily joining her parents, Artemisio and Giuseppina Satti, her siblings, Rose Thacker, Emily Boulais, and P.F.C. Bartolomeo Satti and her daughter-in-law Marie (DeFusco) Costa in heaven.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Holiday Retirement Home for the care, love, support and kindness given to Eva over the past seven years. We know that your lives were touched by her and that she will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life Mass on June 29, 2019 at 9:30 a.m., in St. Phillips Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, with burial immediately following at Acotes Hill Cemetery, 1049 Putnam Pike, Chepachet.
