North Smithfield Rescue, Landmark win high marks for work

On Feb. 27, I had a medical issue arise and if it weren’t for some of my friends and Rescue personnel in the Town of North Smithfield and the doctors and nurses that work in the Cath Lab in Landmark Medical Center, I probably wouldn’t be here today.

I want to thank Brian Gartland for realizing that I was having a heart attack and called the North Smithfield Rescue for me, even though I was being stubborn. I definitely believe if it weren’t for his fast action things would have been very different for me. Capt. Riccitelli was helpful in making sure my passage to the rescue was cleared and all set for me to move out. To rescue workers Chris Carnes and Tom McCooey, thank you very much. I know I was tough on you guys too but I really do understand you had my best interest in mind. I know when you are in that situation you aren’t really thinking clearly and for that I will say “I’m sorry” if I gave you a hard time.

I would also like to thank Landmark’s emergency staff, the Cath Lab staff, and the doctors, technicians and nurses for everything that they did for me that day. I know time was of the essence and they made every minute count in saving me.

This experience has been interesting to say the least but the bottom line is that I know the words “thank you” are not enough for all that these people have done for me.

Also, I would like to thank all of my family and friends for being here for me and all of the support they have given me.
