Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative hosting second ‘Murder at the Museum’ fundraiser

WOONSOCKET – The Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative is inviting residents and supporters to come out for a “deadly good time” at their second annual “Murder at the Museum” fundraiser. The event will take place on Saturday, April 13, and include a “killer” buffet dinner served by Millrace Kitchen at 6 p.m., followed by a murder mystery party at the Museum of Work and Culture at 8 p.m.

Cocktails will be served by Ciro’s Tavern with a specialty themed drink. Tickets will be $40 per person or $75 per couple for both events, or $20 per person for entry at the museum only. Guests will be able to speak to the suspects and witnesses at the event and try to identify the murderer, and one lucky winner will win a $100 gift card to Christopher’s Restaurant at 2 South Main St.

The setting is 1924, when Prohibition has driven drinking underground across the nation, but not in the City on the Move. In an attempt to crack down on crime, Attorney General Carpenter has invited all of Woonsocket to a “law enforcement meeting” to urge them to rally the police department to enforce the laws of the nation. But rumor has it Adelard “Del” Forcier, proprietor of Rhode Island’s largest gambling parlor, is planning a bash unlike any Woonsocket has ever seen that evening.

Guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite 1920s attire and try to solve the clues to identify the name and role of the victim leading up to the event. Clues will be available at local Main Street businesses including the Museum of Work and Culture, Woonsocket Historical Society, Dan’s Marital Arts Studio, New York Lunch, Timeless Antiques, Renaissance Tattoo Studio, Trendz, The Art Den, YMCA and Ciro’s Tavern.

Tickets are available on under the events section. Information about sponsorships and other details can be found on the DWC Facebook page, .
