Women’s History Month Celebration March 25

SMITHFIELD – Town Council President Suzy Alba and restaurant owner Laura Dunlea invite women living and working in Smithfield to attend a celebration of Women’s History Month on Monday, March 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Laura’s Bar and Grill, 945 Douglas Pike.

The 2nd annual Smithfield Women’s History Month Celebration will feature a brief speaking program with special guest Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea.

Attendants will enjoy complimentary appetizers and wine during the social networking event. Alba said the event was an “overwhelming success last year with more than 70 attendants,” and she hopes for a greater turnout this year.

“Women’s History Month is a historical celebration and remembrance of women’s contributions to society and we are excited to once again bring together women in business, teachers, local government and nonprofit leaders, and many other local women making unique contributions to our community,” said Alba.
