Join the Culinaria Food Tour this summer

PAWTUCKET – Blackstone Valley Culinaria Food Tours announces the following events. Tours begin at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Wednesday, June 21, Monte Cara, 532 Lonsdale Ave., Pawtucket. Take a culinary tour to the Cape Verde Islands. Meet at Monte Cara restaurant to feast on two Cape Verdean delicacies – a grilled chicken dinner with rice and french fries and a simmered cod fish dish with eggs, potato and rice, as well as a salad. Co-owner of the family-friendly restaurant, Leyanne Oliveira, will share information about the Cape Verde Islands and their unique style of cooking.

• Saturday, July 8, McCoy Stadium, 1 Columbus Ave., Pawtucket. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of McCoy Stadium. Meet Executive Chef Robert Gemma and get an insider’s look at PawSox players’ favorite meals and learn about food service at the park during a Q & A session and finish with a ballpark lunch.

• Wednesday, July 19, Crepe Corner, 3 Commerce St., Unit 10, Greenville. Visit the new European style café in Greenville for a demonstration of crepe-making by owner Natacha Legein. Visitors will dine on Vol Au Vent, a savory crepe filled with chicken and mushrooms and special sauce, as well as the house special The Corner Crepe filled with gingerbread paste and topped with salted caramel.

• Wednesday, Aug. 9, Mickey G’s Clam Shack and Explorer Tour, Festival Pier, 100 Tim Healey Way, Pawtucket. Enjoy clam cakes and chowder by Mickey G’s with a cold drink. Then hop on the Explorer riverboat for a scenic and interpretive tour along the Pawtucket River. See river views of downtown Pawtucket as well as the wildlife that make their home along “America’s Hardest Working River.

• Wednesday, Aug. 23, Tavern on the Water, 743 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Enjoy Pasta Jambalaya with penne pasta, shrimp, chourico and chicken in a Cajun cream sauce. The chef will demonstrate the dish tableside.
